The Desire to be More


The desire to be more or do more have constantly crossed paths within the thoughts of humanity's greatest minds. As an entrepreneur daily routines can become a drudgery and very time consuming, if one is not careful enough. Is it because people have always been comfortable with the known and always looked to tackle the issue right in front of them? Whatever the reason the mystery and the quest for something more seem to be evading a majority. 

Entrepreneurs are wealth creators. Peter Drucker heralded them by stating, that the future economy will show forth a movement from the managerial to the 'entrepreneurial'. Why are entrepreneurs so unique? Why do they always grab one's attention? Is it their flamboyant nature and lifestyle? IS it the success stories that accompany the chosen? Whichever the case be entrepreneurs are truly unique. 

While the media has us focused on a minority of stylish entrepreneurs, a majority of small business entrepreneurs find themselves in deep waters within the first couple of years. The many stories of shattered dreams that go untold, are even beyond our grasp. An entrepreneur enters their designation with big dreams. As time goes by he or she is forced to deal with a daily magnitude of tasks. Thus, they get derailed with the initial desire and vision, that made them start-out in the first place. 

The passion and the desire to be more or to do more must never be quenched. Fostering such an intrinsic motivation ensures that the entrepreneur opens his or her mind for continuous growth. The passion engulfs them. They are not satisfied with the same results, doing the same things in the same old way. They put in everything within them to push themselves to be more creative, be more learner-centric and cultivate an open mind for learning. It becomes a wellspring of creativity within them that never runs dry.

The first characteristic of an inventor is that he is not happy with things as they are. He sees a different picture and his mind craves the manifestation of what he envisions. He does not want to remain in the old page tied to the same old thinking. He wants to move on. He wants to do something more. He is fully convinced of his ability to change the situation.
