Awakened The Mind Behind the Business

Image
How often does one stop and wonder what the mind holds in store for the entrepreneur?  The golden truth is that ‘mind behind the business’ is the sacred treasure of entrepreneurship.  Great entrepreneurs of each time have been able to develop their minds to a level of personal growth that enabled them to be the creators and pursuers of great innovative ideas.  All innovation begins with opportunity recognition and idea generation usually springing forth from a problem that needs to be tackled or a solution that can benefit humans. Their strength of mind is a lesson for all entrepreneurs who need to understand that their mind is the ‘key sustainer’ of their business.  This book so fulfils that call as a voice to ignite the imagination of potential leaders in the arena of business and summons them to use their brain’s resources to guide them to their destination.  As it was famously said, “A mind once stretched can never go back to its original form...

Challenging Times

Image
Entrepreneurs can never be complacent in any season of their journey. Yet the challenges presented to them at this moment in time is like no other. It demands the greatest patience and perseverance a Business Mind can supply. The great philosopher Aristotle said that in life you really cannot do anything meaningful without courage. It is interesting that he places it next to honour. In oldern times honour was one of the most treasured virtues. Many can pretend to be brave, but what happens when the real test comes? Can one find boldness from deep within to ride above the storm. That is what a resilient Entrepreneur is able to do. He or she is able to find that inner boldness from the depths of their spirit and push past their fears. Now the time has come for Entrepreneurs to reach deep within and stand up tall and face the challenges that are presented with change. Copyright 2021. All Rights Reserved. De Costa

Why ‘Focus’ is a valuable mental tool for an Entrepreneur?

Image
Daniel Goleman in his book, “Focus, the hidden driver of excellence”, talks about three kinds of ‘Focus’, that all leaders need. 1.        Inner focus – Attunes leaders to their intuitions, guiding values and helps leaders make better decisions. A leader, he says who does not have inner focus becomes rudderless. 2.        Other focus – Connects leaders to the people in their lives. A leader who does not care for others and do not seek to understand their thinking, is clueless to what is taking place around him or her. 3.        Outer focus – Connects leaders to the larger systems that they find themselves in. A leader who does not increase his awareness of the larger systems at play will become blindsided. In an information rich world such as today, entrepreneurs and leaders can easily get lost and side-tracked with overloaded stimuli that fights for their attention. H...

Creative Thinking

Image
Creativity in Entrepreneurship  focuses on entrepreneurs generating novel and useful ideas for their businesses. Knowledge in this regard is significant, because it has a tremendous potential to enhance creativity and the lack of it causes creativity to diminish. In a world where entrepreneurs face major challenges trying to keep abreast in economic downturn, such novel ideas can be developed into potentially rewarding products and services. The success of these ideas, hinges on a touch of familiarity but novel enough to standout from the crowd. Novel ideas are the lifeblood of entrepreneurship.  In entrepreneurial success stories entrepreneurs 1.        Generate valuable ideas for new goods & services. 2.        They must appeal to some identifiable market. 3.        The project must be brought to fruition. Novelty and usefulness is the basis for creative i...

The Innovative Thinker

Image
The first characteristic of an inventor is that he is not happy with things as they are. He sees a different picture and his mind craves the manifestation of what he envisions. He does not want to remain in the old page tied to the same old thinking. He wants to move on. He wants to do something more. He is fully convinced of his ability to change the situation. The thoughts within him start haunting him. Like Edison put it, 'the spirit of invention possesses him.'. He cannot seem to get away from his thoughts. His mind summons him to rise above.  Innovative thinking is different. It cannot rest till it finds a better way, a better solution that doesn't accept things as they are. Such a mind cannot.  What happens when entrepreneurs become innovative in their thinking? Their capacity to find innovative solutions increase.  They become more creative in their thinking.  They become bold to challenge the status quo.  T hey gain a desire to do...

The Desire to be More

Image
The desire to be more or do more have constantly crossed paths within the thoughts of humanity's greatest minds. As an entrepreneur daily routines can become a drudgery and very time consuming, if one is not careful enough. Is it because people have always been comfortable with the known and always looked to tackle the issue right in front of them? Whatever the reason the mystery and the quest for something more seem to be evading a majority.  Entrepreneurs are wealth creators. Peter Drucker heralded them by stating, that the future economy will show forth a movement from the managerial to the 'entrepreneurial'. Why are entrepreneurs so unique? Why do they always grab one's attention? Is it their flamboyant nature and lifestyle? IS it the success stories that accompany the chosen? Whichever the case be entrepreneurs are truly unique.  While the media has us focused on a minority of stylish entrepreneurs, a majority of small business entrepreneurs find themselv...

The Art of Innovative Discovery: inbetween Lost and Found

Image
Many seek a new path to the waterfall. This path usually lies hidden within the current mantra of things. Weariness sets in causing gloom and depression and many wonder how they can make things turn out for the better. It may be more sales, more finances, a better job, new prospects or opportunities. Whatever the case may be most often it is a feeling of being in between lost and found. That unpleasant feeling in the gut acts as a heavy fog and dampens the path ahead and deprive it of hope. Entrepreneurs take a step forward in their entrepreneurial journey because they somehow feel that they have some unique product or service to offer the market. They are exuberant at the prospects and cannot wait to ride on the shoulders of success. But how many take the time to contemplate the pressures and the hard work that comes along with the package?  Most often entrepreneurs misjudge innovation & creativity, by restricting it to identifying and setting up the initial ...
